Best of August Lists

You know I love me some lists. There are so many great books coming out this month – I’m just trying to figure out how I can read 60 hours a week while working full-time. I’m told it’s not possible, but I refuse to believe it.

Yaasss Things

  • The Tor.com novella submission period is OPEN! I think it’s so exciting that they do this a couple of times each year. That must be why they constantly have the most original novellas. Read about the submission process.
  • This showed up in my Twitter mentions on Thursday, and it’s a BRILLIANT article on architecture in science fiction. Seriously, read it. I’m so impressed at the in-depth analysis and, as an architecture nerd, I really appreciated at. Read it here.
  • It’s the Harry Potter anniversary, and what better way to celebrate than reading an article that proves Harry should have been a Slytherin? I say this as a Slytherin myself. Read it here.
  • If you couldn’t tell from my review last week, I LOVED Star Trek: Discovery. It features amazing graphics, strong characters, and an interesting retelling of the Star Trek story. Read it here if you haven’t.
  • I flew through Lost in Space – can’t wait for season 2 to come out some time next year. I’m all about anything that takes place in space, especially if it has a high-tech robot and a very cool alien world.
  • I hit 1,000 Twitter followers last night! I’m loving the Twitter community and all of the conversations I get to see every day. Thanks to everyone who’s interested in what I have to say. If you haven’t followed me yet – head on over and follow!
