Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

I saw Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and I’m not totally sure what I thought. On the one hand, I saw it as a double feature. I’m a huge fan of the first Jurassic World – it made me remember the excitement of a dinosaur theme park that I felt as a 90’s kid. Seeing it again on the big screen was a treat for me. It’s hard to follow that.

As you can see in the trailers, the second is very different. It’s replaced the awe, wonder and excitement with explosions, catastrophe, fear and tragedy. It was a bit of an emotional rollercoaster tbh. Overall, I enjoyed it but I missed the wonder I felt with the first movie in this new trilogy.

I’d be very curious to know what other people thought!

  1. Between the first movie, the trailer and what others have said, I’ll probably never bother watching this even when it comes out on bluray. It seems like it has gotten away from the wonder and into “blockbuster” stuff.
